@@@acording from KNU Report on 4/NOV. Taungoo district on October 20, Slorc commander and deputy commander of Light Infantry Battalion 48, Lt. Colonel Myint Han and Major Tun Tun Oo arrested 60 men, women and children from Kaw Thay Der village and forced them to carry rations for their troops at the front line at See Keh Der, Plo Mu Der, Tha Kwee Soe and Bu Hsa Kee. The Slorc soldiers also used these villagers to sweep mines for them.
@@@On October 23, 3 casualities were reported. A 42 year old woman was reported killed by mines. She had 6 children including a breast fed baby. The other two, Saw Lay Tu, 24,and Naw Bee Meh, 45, were wounded. Lt. Colonel Myint Han and Major Tun Tun Oo continued to hold remaining villagers as porters and mine sweepers. Deputy commander of Tactical Operational Command 2,under Western Regional Command, Nyunt Tin, ordered the villagers of Kler La village and the villagers from the other neighboring villages to build a monastery in Kler La village which would cost about 500.00 kyats. The villagers have to pay for the expenses as well as DONATE their labor.

@@@The company statement, released on November 11, said "Wente Vineyards shares the concern of US government officials and human rights organizations regarding allegations of human rights abuses by the government of Myanmar (formerly Burma) and heroin exports from that country to the US. Due to its concern, Wente decided... to suspend any further promotional activity in or shipments to Burma."

@@@from BURMA NET news, on 22/NOV. Movement on Myanmar border curbed. -Imphal,Nov.21. The BSF and the central forces in Chandel district bordering Myanmar have restricted the movement of petty businessmen and smugglers along the international border following snipings and lootings by armed youth suspected to be members of some proscribed organisations, official sources said.
@@@Three personnel of 11 Gurkha Regiment posted at Moreh along the international border were seriously injured on Tuesday when they were ambushed. Besides there have been increasing reports of lootings from businessmen coming to Moreh. Soon after the commission of the crime these armed men cross over to Myanmar rendering the Indian security forces helpless.
@@@Since no criminal has been apprehended so far, it is not exactly known which underground organisation commits these crimes. It is suspected that even some underground organisations of Myanmar might have been behind these crimes.
